Applicants for Georgia certification who have attended colleges or universities outside the 50 U.S. states or the District of Columbia must provide the GaPSC with a foreign credential report which includes English translations and information showing detailed, course-by-course evaluations and appropriate U.S. degree equivalency.
: Course work or degrees completed in U.S. territories, possessions, or commonwealths such as Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands must be documented on a foreign credential report in order to ensure that the applicant receives full and accurate credit for his/her work.
If the courses/degrees earned outside the U.S. are unrelated to the Georgia certificate being requested and a subsequent degree has been received from a GaPSC-accepted accredited U.S. colleges or universities, submission of the foreign credential report is optional, but encouraged.
The foreign credential report MUST be an independent review prepared by an agency approved by the GaPSC. These agencies are private enterprises that charge a fee for their services and that expense is the responsibility of the applicant. The following four agencies are GaPSC-approved. Reports from any other agency will NOT be accepted.
