Rulemaking Public Notice
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the authority contained in Official Code of Georgia Title 20, it is proposed that the Professional Standards Commission initiate rulemaking procedures in accordance with Georgia Administrative Procedures Act so as to provide for:

(1) amending the current rules in Chapter 505-2- Certification, effective July 1, 2025, as follows: 505-2-.20, 505-2-.09, 505-2-.10, 505-2-.21, 505-2-.24, 505-2-.34, 505-2-.36, 505-2-.45, 505-2-.46, 505-2-.87, and 505-2-.90; (2) repealing the current rules in Chapter 505-2- Certification, effective July 1, 2025, as follows: 505-2-.04, 505-2-.22, 505-2-.26; (3) initiating the current rules in Chapter 505-2- Certification, effective July 1, 2025, as follows: 505-2-.04, 505-2-.22, 505-2-.26; and (4) amending the current rules in Chapter 505-3- Educator Preparation Rules, effective July 1, 2025, as follows: 505-3-.01, 505-3-.76, and 505-3-.77.

Instructions For Submitting Comments
All interested persons shall be afforded reasonable opportunity to submit data, views, or arguments orally or in writing. Anyone interested in making a written statement may do so by submitting it to RulesComments@GaPSC.com or mail to Rules Comments, Georgia Professional Standards Commission, 200 Piedmont Avenue, SE, Suite 1716, West Tower, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-9032. It is requested that such a statement be delivered on or before April 26, 2025. Opportunity for oral hearing shall be granted if requested by 25 persons who will be directly affected by the proposed rule, by a governmental subdivision, or by an association having not less than 25 members.

The GaPSC will consider the adoption of these rules at the May 8, 2025, virtual meeting of the Commission to begin at approximately 4:00 p.m.
