The
School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement was established by the
Safe Schools Act (HB 147) for school
personnel to help keep schools safe and prevent gang activity and recruitment in classrooms.
The
Safe Schools Act (HB 147) focuses on
keeping Georgia’s students, teachers, and school personnel safe. The legislation modernizes school safety protocols
by equipping school personnel with skills to protect students.
The
School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement
gives certificate holders strengthened and enhanced competency levels in multidisciplinary best practices for promoting
and preserving safe schools and for identifying and deterring youth gangs.
To meet the requirements of the Safe Schools Act (HB 147), the Georgia Professional Standard Commission collaborated
with 3 agencies to coordinate, plan, develop, and implement training and procedures for the Safe Schools Act and
