Great American Teacher Awards

The Georgia Professional Standards Commission strongly supports the recognition of outstanding teachers. Whether it is through our own Georgia Master Teacher Program or one of many other quality programs, we are committed to celebrating excellence in education.

The Great American Teachers Awards Program, now offered by the Ron Clark Academy and Great American Financial, is another opportunity to celebrate "exemplary teaching that is challenging, innovative, and creative".

Teachers can be nominated by their schools, colleagues, students, themselves, or by anyone who recognizes their outstanding work in the classroom.

Application deadline is September 1, 2009. Five national finalists will be honored in October 2009 at the Ron Clark Academy Educators' Conference, where one teacher will be recognized as the Great American Teacher of the Year and receive $10,000 plus $5,000 for their school.
