Preparation - Submit Dates for On-Site Review

An on-site review is scheduled after the Intent to Seek Approval has been acknowledged and the Preconditions have been accepted. The institution/agency should submit the desired dates for on-site reviews for developmental approval of new teacher preparation units to the PSC by September 15 or February 1 of the semester preceding the desired visit. Spring reviews may be scheduled between January and May; fall visits may be scheduled between September and December. The on-site review officially begins on Saturday and is completed by noon on Wednesday.
Be sure to check the school calendar to assure that students and the faculty will be on campus during the on-site review. The dates of professional meetings (e.g., American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education and American Education Research Association) that may be attended by a number of faculty members should also be checked for conflict. Major religious holidays should be avoided since it is difficult to find team members who are willing to accept assignments during these periods.
