Preparation - Prepare Review Budget
A pre-visit by the BOE team chair and PSC staff member is required. The pre-visit expenses of the PSC team chair is paid by the institution/agency. The PSC staff member's expenses are paid by the PSC.
The institution/agency is responsible for all travel and hotel and per diem expenses associated with the on-site approval review for all BOE team members. The PSC staff member's expenses are paid by the PSC.
Unit heads are encouraged to arrange for the hotel to master bill the institution/agency for the payment of the hotel bill so that BOE team members do not have to use their personal resources.
If it is not possible to make such arrangements, BOE team members should be notified that they will need to pay their hotel bills and that arrangements will be made for reimbursement by the institution/agency.
A number of expenses will be incurred prior to the actual on-site approval review, e.g., typing, copying, and shipping of Program Reports, Institutional Report, and related documents;
and overhead associated with these activities. Some institutions/agencies, especially large ones, provide release time to an approval review coordinator and may assign a secretary and/or graduate assistant to the project as well.
Other related costs may be attendance of a faculty member at a PSC program approval orientation session or assistance by paid consultants.
Other institution/agency expenses related to the on-site approval review include (a) refreshments provided to the team members in their work rooms; and (b) overhead expenses such as release time for an approval review coordinator,
secretarial support, costs of gathering data, and special equipment.
