Proposed Rules (March 6, 2014)
 

Public Comment Period: March 6, 2014 - April 4, 2014

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the authority contained in Official Code of Georgia Title 20, it is proposed that the Professional Standards Commission initiate rulemaking procedures in accordance with Georgia Administrative Procedures Act so as to provide for (1) rescinding all current rules in Chapter 505-2 Certification, effective July 1, 2014; (2) initiating all rules in Chapter 505-2 Certification, effective July 1, 2014, with rules 505-2.03 and 505-2-.07 effective July 1, 2015; (3) rescinding all current rules in Chapter 505-3 Educator Preparation, effective May 15, 2014, and (4) initiating all rules in Chapter 505-3 Educator Preparation, effective May 15, 2014.

All interested persons shall be afforded reasonable opportunity to submit data, views, or arguments orally or in writing. Anyone interested in making a written statement may do so by submitting it to the undersigned at 200 Piedmont Avenue, Suite 1702, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-9032. It is requested that such a statement be delivered on or before April 4, 2014. Opportunity for oral hearing shall be granted if requested by 25 persons who will be directly affected by the proposed rule, by a governmental subdivision, or by an association having not less than 25 members.

The Professional Standards Commission will consider the proposed rules during its regular meeting on April 10, 2014, to begin at approximately 12:00 noon at the Professional Standards Commission Board Room, 4th Floor, 200 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-9032.
