Proposed Rules (January 28, 2015)

Public Comment Period: January 28, 2015 - -February 26, 2015

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the authority contained in Official Code of Georgia Title 20, it is proposed that the Professional Standards Commission initiate rulemaking procedures in accordance with Georgia Administrative Procedures Act so as to provide for (1) amending the current rules in Chapter 505-2 Certification, effective April 15, 2015, as follows: 505-2-.02, 505-2- .04, 505-2-.05, 505-2-.14, 505-2.19, 505-2-24, 505-2-.26, 505-2-.33, and 505-2-.144; (2) amending the current rules in Chapter 505-2- Certification, effective July 1, 2015, as follows: 505- 2-.03; (3) repealing the current rules in Chapter 505-3 Educator Preparation, effective April 15, 2015, as follows: 505-3-.76, 505-3-.77, and 505-3-.78; (4) initiating the current rules in Chapter 505-3- Educator Preparation, effective April 15, 2015, as follows: 505-3-.79 and 505-3-.77.

All interested persons shall be afforded reasonable opportunity to submit data, views, or arguments orally or in writing. Anyone interested in making a written statement may do so by submitting it to the undersigned at 200 Piedmont Avenue, Suite 1702, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-9032. It is requested that such a statement be delivered on or before February 26, 2015. Opportunity for oral hearing shall be granted if requested by 25 persons who will be directly affected by the proposed rule, by a governmental subdivision, or by an association having not less than 25 members.

The Professional Standards Commission will consider the proposed rules during its regular meeting on March 12, 2015, to begin at approximately 12:00 noon at the Professional Standards Commission Board Room, 4th Floor, 200 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-9032.
