Georgia offers several types of licenses to school personnel. A license authorizes an individual to work in a specific capacity in a Georgia LUA. License holders are not considered certified Georgia educators.

The GaPSC also issues permits. Permits allow individuals with specific qualifications to teach in Georgia schools. Because permit holders have not completed an educator preparation program, a permit is not considered a professional certificate.
