Filing a Complaint
- Write and sign a letter of complaint to the Commission. The Commissioners will determine whether to investigate complaints based on the contents of your letter. A copy of a letter to another individual or institution is not a complaint to the Professional Standards Commission.
- State the educator's full name. Without a full name, knowing exactly which educator's behavior is in question is difficult.
- Include your mailing address, and telephone number and the mailing address, and telephone number of the educator, if known. This will expedite our contact with you and the educator.
- State the school district, county, or agency that employs the educator.
- Describe the specific behavior of the educator. Please limit your description to two pages or less.
- Mail the letter to the Professional Standards Commission, Educator Ethics Division, Two Peachtree, Suite 6000, Atlanta, Georgia 30303-3141.
- The Commission considers complaints at its regular monthly meeting during the second week in every month. Complaints received after the end of each month will be considered at the next monthly meeting.
