Basic Skills Information for Georgia TAPP Candidates Candidates
must satisfy the basic skills requirement to be admitted into the Georgia
TAPP program. The GACE® Basic Skills Assessment is an academic skills assessment in reading, math,
and writing. The reading, math, and writing tests are separate test (You must pass all three tests or make the required composite score to
satisfy the basic skills requirement. Candidates may exempt the basic skills assessment with
qualifying scores on the SAT, GRE or ACT. For more information on the GACE® Basic Skills Assessment please visit the GACE® website.
An official copy of your scores must be available to the Georgia TAPP program provider. You must submit a copy of your scores to the program provider. The basic skills assessment may be exempted if high enough scores are obtained on the SAT, ACT or GRE. Exemptions scores are as follows:

Content Assessment Information for Georgia TAPP CandidatesBeginning September, 2006, GACE® is the required content assessment in Georgia.
Individuals who have already passed PRAXIS or the **Georgia Teacher Certification Test (TCT) in the appropriate certification field, will not be required to take GACE®. You must submit an official copy of your GACE® scores to the program provider. GACE® is administered by NES. GACE® is administered in one format: paper-and-pencil. For registration information and/or study materials, please visit the GACE® website. You may register for GACE® on-line. GACE® scores are available on-line or mailed to examinees within four weeks of test administration.
