Meeting the Computer Skills Competency (CSC) Requirement by taking the GACE (CSC) Assessment
There are many ways to satisfy the Computer Skills Competency Requirement, all of which are outlined here. Please note that educators that complete a GaPSC or NCATE approved educator preparation program after July 1, 2001, already meet the CSC requirement.
For those who do not already meet the Computer Skills Competency requirement, one path to satisfying the requirement is to pass the GACE Computer Skill Competency Assessment, which replaces Georgia AssessOnline that ended on September 30, 2007. The GACE Computer Skills Competency Assessment is an internet based assessment that is available in school districts to their employees, some RESAs, and all Educational Technology Centers (ETCs) across Georgia. The cost is $35.
